My
background
I
grew up in Vancouver British Columbia and started skiing when I was seven
in our local mountains and Whistler.
I
have lived, worked and studied in such exotic places as Brazil, Mexico,
Italy, Japan, Hong Kong, England, the South Pacific and the Himalayas.
I
am now back in Whistler to stay. When I am not teaching skiing in the
winter, I guide hiking here in the Coast Mountains and the Canadian Rockies.
I
love the outdoors and spend as much time as I can skiing, backcountry
touring, mountaineering, hiking, and biking. After all the mountains are
my office!
How
I Teach
I
like to keep things simple, have fun and get lots of mileage.
Skiing
can be a very complex and technical sport especially if you are new to it.
The best way to improve your skiing is actually doing it and having fun. I
try to make it as simple as possible by focusing on exactly the skills you
need, when to use them and give you the opportunity to practice them. Once
you have mastered one thing, we move onto the next.
I
always try to get my clients to do more than they ever thought they could
and still finish the day with energy and good humor. Skiing is all about
having fun and adventure, being able to explore new places, being in
control and not working any harder than you have to.
I
specialize in teaching beginners, intermediates, adults and children. I
enjoy introducing beginners to skiing and helping intermediates fine tune their
skills. I speak Italian fluently as well as some basic Spanish and Portuguese.
